ROUTE 4: Wakefield Poole: Visions and revisions – Celeste González
Wakefield Poole: Visions and revisions is a dance solo that takes its form as a performative conference. Inspired by the American dance of the “Russian Ballet of Monte Carlo”, and the work of the 70s cult gay porn director Wakefield Poole, González reflects on two well-known pieces by Poole: the second act of Swan Lake and Boys in the sand, his very first erotic movie. This piece draws our attention to the similar responses that both ballet and porn can evoke.
After having worked in the field of academic dance during the 80s and the 90s, González changed direction in order to investigate other languages.
