Thérians - Louise Vanneste/Rising horses
Brussels-based choreographer Louise Vanneste loves to produce a combination of grace and instinctive casualness in her works. Proof of this can be found again in Thérians, a word that comes from therianthropy that, for the uninitiated, is the mythological ability of human beings to metamorphose into animals. From the parading and marriage rituals of birds, she retains the body’s ability to metamorphose, to adopt a different sex, acknowledged by Virginia Woolf as providing inspiration for her Orlando. Keen on the dark black of photography, with her usual associates and the young Youness Khoukhou she intends to reinvent an awakening of a mysterious nature for the stage.
