Immersive performance: digital and analogue strategies for audience engagement
In the last decade, we have seen a massive re-emergence of immersive, participatory, site-specific and intimate practices in the theatre field. Practitioners are transforming the genres of theatre, film, performance art, gaming, and installation into a range of exciting new formats, including one-to-ones, group events, journey-based audio works, virtual reality and more, in order to engage active audiences in “mixed reality” experiences. Following the IETM Brussels session on the same theme, four local artists will talk about their practices on the Portuguese immersive performance scene.
