Now a decade on from the financial crash, we look back to those troubling times to conclude once again that it has been a challenging path for the arts, full of obstacles and, according to some, opportunities. Have we embraced the notorious concept of sustainable business models? Have we adapted our practices to innovative audience enlargement strategies? Can we claim today the arts are no longer in danger? What is the status quo of our sector’s economy, and can we ever safeguard it from global financial fluctuations?
