Corduroy de-constructed - Björn Säfsten
Corduroy de-constructed is a dance installation by emerging choreographer Björn Säfsten. The material was created for the project Corduroy performed at Dansens Hus in late November. Now the piece will be rewritten, shattered, smeared, fragmented and deconstructed over four days at Magasin 3 then performed, projecting it back on the audience, allowing them to get even closer to the themes. An on-going, avant-garde experiment, the installation will change from day to day exploring its perversions and limits.
Since the debut piece The adaptation (2006), Björn Säfsten and his collaborative artistic team have made several productions together. In trembling space gave him first prize in the choreographic competition at Dansens Hus in Stockholm 2007. Säfsten was awarded the Cullberg price in 2009.
