Ekman's Triptych - A study of entertainment - Cullbergbaletten
What is entertainment? Why are some things more entertaining than others? For his first full-evening performance for Cullberg Ballet choreographer Alexander Ekman has created three parts with different expressions and moods. After its premiere at Dansens Hus last autumn, the performance was received with great acclaim, lauded as “hyper-energetically unabashed” with Ekman himself proclaimed “conceptual volcano”.
Cullberg Ballet is in its fifth decade as a leading contemporary company. The ensemble has performed in more than forty countries and is an important cultural ambassador for Sweden. Alexander Ekman has quickly established himself as a quirky, dynamic and life-loving choreographer, acclaimed for work that hits the mark - with a humorous twist.
