Cripples - Golden Gate Kyiv Municipal Theatre / Scene 6
This story is about teenagers, not their impairments. Two cool boys who see themselves as adults. What can two adults talk about? For sure they will talk about girls and the future in which there are no hospitals.
They will discover a simple truth - it’s better to spend one’s life making someone happy instead of wasting it trying to change things that can’t be changed.
The show is based on the play by modern German playwright Sergej Goessner Mongos. Cripples is an attempt to draw attention of the Ukrainian society to the issue of social inclusion of people with disabilities. This show was designed to be adaptable to different spaces and to be performed at schools.
Golden Gate is a municipal theatre established in 1979. Today, the theatre supports and promotes young stage directors, actors, choreographers and set designers, produces works of contemporary Ukrainian and European drama, collaborates with international theatre makers, and discusses the important social issues of today.
