Girls Boys Love Cash / Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv
This humorous and emotional play on body, consumption and prostitution was devised after a two year research period with young people between 16 and 20. Questions of morality, sexuality and pudency, gender and power are dealt with through the narration of different lives. “What is the stress ratio between body and consumption in a totally capitalist world? What is the gradient of power between those who consume and those who offer (themselves)? Is the use of the human body itself as a ware the climax of an economic surge which has long swept over all areas of our lives?” (Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv)
The Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv consists of 7 performing artists realising theatrical productions about current topics with a particular, collective production approach. The focus lies on breaking up old structures and hierarchies and questioning rigid thought patterns.
Every other month they organise DIE KOLLEKTION (the collection), a public research and presentation of the current questions and rehearsal results. Within the KOLLEKTIONEN (collections) DAS MAGAZIN (the magazine) is produced, another artistic expression of the collective‘s work. Furthermore, every second month, they also produce a radio programme under the label CITIZEN.KANE.RADIO, broadcast in Free Radio Stuttgart (Freies Radio Stuttgart).
