Technology has made communication easier and has become a central part of our daily personal and professional life, often through social media. However, are we actually communicating properly? Listening, being inquisitive and having proper conversations are at the heart of the successful initiatives we will be exploring throughout the Satellite meeting.
After introducing us to their work, Annie Roy and Pierre Allard from Atsa will be leading a workshop on confronting preconceived ideas. The workshop will help us to take a critical look at and question our own practice. Some of the assumptions that will be challenged are about the culture existing in rural areas, hierarchy of the arts depending on the size / centrality of the settlement, expectations regarding audiences, and participatory work.
