Next steps - learning from exchanges
We start with an artistic idea based on a strong socio-political reference, find a like-minded partner, and then develop a concept together. However, cooperating transnationally, beyond borders, often implies difficulties to find common ground. What is our motivation for working in a dialogue beyond curiosity and solidarity? How does a joint concept change along the way? Which new impulses do changing local references introduce into collaborative works? Which aesthetical means do the artists create together to respond to matters, such as growing restrictions on artistic work in their respective country? These are some of the questions to be discussed in round tables with artists who recently gained experience in working transnationally.
Organised by the German Centre of the ITI in cooperation with Politik im Freien Theater and IETM.
