Join us as we discuss whether the key to achieving cultural democracy is to move away from traditional venues and into public outdoor spaces, co-creating work directly with the public who inhabit those areas.
Many of the barriers to inclusion in the arts emerge from places as well as people. Traditional venues for arts engagement are often the main obstacle to an inclusive creative practise as communities have notions of exclusivity associated with specific places.
Is the key to co-creating inclusive work with these communities to do so in new civic spaces?
