Keynote speech: The idea that grew bigger than the performance; the performance that grew bigger than the idea
In this keynote speech, Amund Sjølie Sveen will tell the story of a performance that uses provocative and sometimes fascistic strategies to engage its audience, insisting that it’s not a performance at all, but in fact a political movement.

The performance Nordting (The Northern Assembly) has engaged and enraged wherever it has been performed. Nordting only partly takes place inside the theater. Just as important are numerous interventions in the public, newspaper articles and debate in social media. The fame of Nordting started at its grand premiere in 2014 where outraged politicians left the room. Ever since, the performance has been setting the agenda wherever it has come. Amund Sjølie Sveen, Liv Hanne Haugen and Erik Stifjell are the creators of Nordting - politicians, newspapers and audiences all fear them as much as they love them.

The keynote will be followed by a Q&A with participants.

Speaker: Amund Sjølie Sveen, artist, Norway
