Meeting Point: Luxembourg Station - Bus stop Gare-Rocade Quai 6
Address: Rocade de Bonnevoie | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant arts and culture scene of Luxembourg! Before the IETM Focus Luxembourg Meeting, join us on Monday 27 November for an afternoon of networking and cultural exploration. This pre-meeting trip to the former 2022 European Capital of Culture, Esch-sur-Alzette, offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the local context from the perspective of performing arts and green transition. Originally known for metallurgy and mining, the city has reinvented itself and is now home to more than 120 nationalities and plenty of ecological initiatives, which you can learn more about from Céline Schall, a researcher in cultural sciences. Discover the city through the voices of its inhabitants thanks to the site-specific work of the Ampersand Variation collective. Visit one of the historical cultural centres of the region at Kulturfabrik, where you will attend a performance by Eddi van Tsui before eating a local organic meal at MESA, the House of Transition. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with peers and engage in meaningful exchanges with local cultural actors. Kick off the IETM Focus Luxembourg Meeting by immersing yourself in the local culture. We can't wait to see you there! A vegetarian dinner will be covered by the organiser. Schedule:

Address: 1 Bd Robert Schuman, 2525 Luxembourg | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Language: Italian Subtitles: French and German Audio-description available by request to lestheatres@vdl.lu The Théâtres de la Ville continue their survey of the vast body of work from one of the greatest composers, with a visit from the rambunctious Sir John Falstaff. Dedicated to Shakespeare’s great comic creation of the round-bellied knight, Falstaff is Verdi’s opera in three acts adapted from the bard’s play, The Merry Wives of Windsor. Plotting to wheedle his way into the affections and wealth of two married women, Falstaff makes the mistake of sending them identical love letters. With the help of their friend Mistress Quickly, another favourite Shakespearean character, the wives counter with their own plan to outwit him. Stage direction is by Denis Podalydès. In the pit is the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg which, along with the Chœur de l’Opéra de Lille, is led by internationally renowned conductor Antonello Allemandi. The MiserLocation: Kinneksbond
Location: Kinneksbond
Address: 4 Um Kinneksbond, 8210 Mamer | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Language: French Subtitles: None By revisiting Molière's hilarious masterpiece, Olivier Lopez sets out to denounce the patriarchal order, its cruelty and the denial of the aspirations of youth. With Olivier Broche in the role of Harpagon! Money money money. Harpagon imposes on his loved ones and his servants an austerity that turns into a nightmare: he abuses his house and baulks at every expense, to the point of plunging everyone into deep distress. Walled in terrible solitude since the death of his wife, his greed eats away at him like a disease that gets worse day after day. Her children, Élise and Cléante, endure and dream of emancipation, whether in their way of living, dressing or loving. Hypocrisy and lies certainly reign supreme, but little by little, everyone will challenge an order in complete decomposition... After Rabudôru, love doll, Olivier Lopez completes his diptych around money as a source of happiness and conflict within the intimate and family circle. Carried by brilliant actors, his Miser preserves the purity and power of the word, while integrating, at the heart of the comedy, socio-economic subjects of our time. A timeless classic, in which past and present intertwine to reveal the complexity of the human condition! 1940/41Location: Kasemattentheater
Location: Kasemattentheater
Address: 14 Rue du Puits, 2355 Luxembourg | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Language: French Subtitles: None In May 1940, Alex Bonn - born June 18, 1908 - was a young lawyer at the Luxembourg Bar, registered in 1932. He played an important role in the country's Jewish community and once represented the Jewish Consistory. At the centre of this reading are two unpublished texts by Alex Bonn: one, an unpublished nine-page article written in New York in October 1941, in the form of a report on the situation of Jews in Luxembourg in 1940/41. The other, a text relating to his relations with the Gestapo - in particular the trips he made through France, in the company of Gestapo agents towards Portugal. Indeed, at that time, Alex Bonn was trying to help organise the departure of Jews from Luxembourg. In this reading, Alex Bonn's two texts are complementary, in particular through extracts from other first-hand testimonies, such as the fifteen-page memoir of Sigismond Leib, general secretary of the Israelite Consistory, dated June 20, 1942. Alex Bonn, who himself emigrated to New York in April 1941, returned to the country after the war and continued his brilliant career as a lawyer. Address: 3 Place des Rotondes, 2448 Bonneweg-Nord Luxemburg, Luxembourg | Event Map | Venue Accessibility Language: Nonverbal In each of us there is a battle between contrasts, where shadow opposes light. In this story, freely inspired by Italo Calvino's Viscount Scattered, two musicians and an illustrator compartmentalise genres to explore this duality that makes our inner richness. In real time in front of the audience, they conjure up a dreamlike universe that unfolds, in black and white, to music influenced by jazz and electro.
