And Blanche too
“One day.
One princess. One palace.
Blanche, the princess, is perfect.
But her palace is surrounded by invisible walls.
Her life is dictated by a range of lonely and rigid rituals.
Within the palace walls, everything is controlled, concealed and hidden away.
Suddenly and finally, her voice is released and her body disentangles from her chains, the doors of her prison give way and under the force of these changes the palace explodes! Et Blanche aussi (And Blanche too) is a tale both poetic and humorous.
The show is a melange of theatre, dance and mime, which relies on structured gestures and the poetics of movement.”
On the stage, there are the narrator and the princess. As the narrator she tells the story, as the princess she lives and is reborn before the audience's eyes. Sometimes, the narrator leads the play, sometimes the princess leads the story. Using double narration, where the words of one voice support the other, gives different points of view whilst denying it humorously. We wanted an immaterial decor that emerged entirely from the lighting. In the form of light, the palace is both material and spiritual. Gesture is linked with the space but also the sounds, the voice of the narrator; it is the centre of a wild and charged play where everything seems to dance... Guided by the actress, the audience appropriates meaning, little by little from the language of the Princess. That's why Et Blanche aussi, is accessible to everyone, to identify and join in with.
