IETM Secretary General Ása Richardsdottir will give an online welcome to participants of the On the Road Munich. Local organiser Axel Tangerding (Meta Theater) will then offer a quick glance back into the IETM Munich Plenary Meeting 2018, its context and its outcomes.

Three keynote speakers will give 7-minute addresses on three topics:

1. Europe - Ulrike Kuner

Ulrike Kuner (Austrian Association of Independent Performing Arts) will talk about the national and transnational efforts to reform funding schemes, improve working conditions and increase the transparency of the institutions involved.

2. Diversity - Max Dorner

Max Dorner (Officer of inclusion for Munich) will address the development and challenges of inclusion within the arts in the past two years.

3. Future - Julia Opitz

Julia Opitz (Chairwoman of the Bavarian Association of the Independent Performing Arts) will present the means and aims of their work as an association.

Clapping is not enough. Especially during the pandemic, the fragile situation of the independent arts sector has become painfully obvious. But many formerly sacrosanct rules have changed overnight. Where are the options within this new fluidity and how can they be used?
