Online breakout groups [East of the globe]
Online
12:00 - 14:00 SGT | 13:00 - 15:00 JST/KST | 15:00 - 17:00 AEDT | 07:00 - 09:00 MSK | 05:00 - 07:00 CET | 04:00 - 06:00 GMT | 23:00 - 01:00 EST | 20:00 - 22:00 PST
In this online session, we will come together to explore the renewed space of encounter and think about the actions, ideas and changes needed for “tomorrow”.
Remembering the transformative experience of the past year, the workshop will trigger self-reflection and an individual/collective projection into the future. Exploring concepts and perspectives about loss, gain, intimacy, distance, sense and feeling of community, time & space, the participants will reflect on how the pandemic experience has shaped and is shaping (my/our) today and (my/our) tomorrow.
In the world we are living, imagining the future is not just a speculative exercise, but a concrete process to provoke and inspire change in our immediate reality.

Breakout Groups 1

Thematic threads
1. New funding schemes and cultural policies
“The ultimate, hidden truth of the world is that it is something that we make, and could just as easily make differently.” ― David Graeber, The Utopia of Rules: On Technology, Stupidity, and the Secret Joys of Bureaucracy
What if we crossed… Cultural policy with choreography? Grant writing with theatre? Evaluation with storytelling? Funding with improvisation? Governance with circus? Bureaucracy with poetry?
As a network, we have imagination, passion, and each other. We are rich from the diversity of our contexts. This strand is about emergence, dialogue and artistic intelligence.
2. Alternative models for the international
We have heard and probably repeated ourselves that our ways of working internationally are changing or absolutely need to change.
But if so, will the international remain important and necessary for our professional roles in the future? What changes are we making in order to adapt to a new international framework ? How can we create a new international way of working, starting from the fundamental needs of human fulfilment and wellbeing and which impact will it have on what we call the international?
In this strand, we will try to find immediate ways through which we can experiment with alternative international practices without losing sight of why we do it.
3. Opportunities for artistic innovation
In a workshop format we will hear each other's ideas and good practices of how innovation can be integrated in our everyday work routines.
While us artists and arts managers around the globe search for innovative solutions, routes in our artistic work do we also do the same in the supporting practices? Do we really allow for change and for new ideas? How can we break from patterns in our collaborations, ways of work that counteract innovation? And what may be those small or big individual steps that we can make to trigger real change?
