Introduction by the local hosts
The introduction by the local hosts is only available in French.
This local meeting in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) will be held both online and in person. All IETM members, as well as non-members, are invited to participate in the event free of charge. However, registration is compulsory. The Montreal programme will be organised around IETM's central theme "What matters now?".
In a world where human contact is difficult and international cooperation is undermined, reconnecting is essential, both locally and internationally. But how?
The illusion of hyper(de)connection, created by social networks and the abundance of information constantly flowing at our fingertips, makes conversation even more difficult and falsely allows us to keep in touch with each other.
It seems essential to renew the dialogue and find ourselves in the flesh (yes yes!). It seems urgent that the place of art and its craftspeople be rightly perceived as the driving force behind a revived human contact.
We therefore invite all interested participants to join our programme online and in person, to contribute to the discussion and reopen the dialogue.
So, what matters now?
We invite you to get together, exchange and reconnect, simply over a beer, a coffee or a walk.
Programme
The online sessions of the local meeting in Montreal prepared by the local hosts are complementary to the participation in the main IETM online programme (marked as working sessions on the page) on 1-2 October.
