IETM Multi-location in Zagreb
The local Plenary meeting in Zagreb, Croatia, will be organised by our member POGON – Zagreb Centre for Independent Culture and Youth. Please find below the introduction by the local host, as well as the local programme and practical information to help you plan your stay in Zagreb.
Given current travel restrictions due to Covid-19, the local meeting in Zagreb will focus on gathering mainly the Croatian performing arts community. Participants based outside of Croatia are therefore kindly invited to choose another location.
Introduction by the local host
POGON – Zagreb Centre for Independent Culture and Youth is a cultural institution based on the model of civil–public partnership. In 2008 it was jointly founded and managed by the Alliance Operation City and the City of Zagreb. The main function of Pogon is to provide the use of its facilities for cultural and youth programmes of Zagreb-based organisations free of charge. Therefore, Pogon is – at both addresses – a frequent home of NGOs and artists.
Pogon Jedinstvo is located in Staro Trnje (“Old“ Trnje), a blue-collar neighbourhood with a rich history of unrealised city plans. For this reason it is often perceived as a space scarcely touched by urbanisation. However, the elderly residents see it as “Zagreb as it used to be“. Not waiting for the comprehensive solutions for this area, the former Jedinstvo factory imposed itself as the essential place for the creation and presentation of independent culture and youth, in which Močvara, Pogon and DB Indoš have worked for years.
With its cultural activity, Pogon contributes to the development of the neighbourhood, at the same time trying to be a good neighbour and host to the residents of Staro Trnje. And we are looking forward to welcoming you at the local Croatian IETM Plenary meeting on 1-2 October.

Fee: free for both IETM members and non-members.
