How do the officials in charge of the national, regional, local cultural policies  answer the increasing demand of their government for measurable evidence of the value of culture? How do they defend  a vibrant climate for the arts, when the political focus is elsewhere? And if impacts are measurable and measured, will the results influence cultural policies? 

These and other questions were discussed at our Satellite in Paris organised in partnership with French Ministry of Culture and Communication - Directorate-General of artistic creation (MCC-DGCA) and the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

In February 2015, IETM held a first Satellite meeting in Brussels dedicated to measurement of the impact of the arts, especially in national public policies. The purpose of the sequel Satellite in Paris was to put forward the arguments in favor of public funding for cultural activities in various European countries, in a mix of responsibles for culture from national Ministies, local and regional governments and representatives of the arts world.
