Novos Percursos para Campanhã

Concerning Local Journeys for Change, we, Visões Úteis, designed Novos Percursos para Campanhã, a project that aims to boost new paths of specialized artistic training.

In this sense, we idealized four different workshops of which three have already been carried out: workshop #1, with the veteran actor Mário Moutinho, for local primary and secondary school teachers, youth workers, educational technicians and other adults involved in youth training; workshop #2, with the young actor João Nunes Monteiro, that intended to inspire young students to consider taking their artistic education further in this professional area as a viable career option; and workshop #3, an intensive course on Improvisational Techniques, conducted by Ana Luísa Azevedo. The third workshop was attended by three young participants from Campanhã whose enrolment was due to the support granted by IETM to this project.

We are, as may of 2022, about to start workshop #4, which we call Propedêutico, aimed at providing free support and lessons to young people from Campanhã who want to take exams to enter schools specialized in the performing arts. In this way, we hope to prove that life stories can be written differently, counter-currently, and inspire more and more young students to take a chance on this profession, while having a circle of educators and local institutions to support them in their search for expert academic training.
