GRESYS: Handbook & Collection of Green Stories

GRESYS, Green Stories from Youth to Stage, was a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. 

It brought together in 2023-2024 an Italian theatre, Teatro alla Guilla, and two French theatre companies, ALTER EGO (X) and La Transplanisphère, with a common goal: to raise young people's awareness on the objectives of the UN's Agenda 2030 by highlighting their own ecological experiences and commitments through theatrical storytelling. 

We are convinced that theatre as a tool for informal education is one of the most appropriate ways of inviting young people to translate the Agenda 2030 and make it their own, by stimulating their creativity, creating a collective and restoring their self-confidence. 

GRESYS aimed to create theatre workshops based on the artistic translation of the Agenda 2030 and other major texts, and on the collection of young people's ecological stories, supervised by professionals from the cultural sector. These workshops gave birth to two performances, one in France and one in Italy, in which the young people were both actors and authors: their stories, collected in this report, formed the main narrative framework using the storytelling technique.

This handbook introduces the collection of green stories and narratives from young people, prior to their theatre work. In a second part is attached La Transplanisphère’s methodology, on which theatre workshops were based.
