Dance #2
Eszter Salamon and Christine de Smedt
Dance #2 is the sequel of Dance #1/Driftworks, the duet formed in 2007 by Salamon and Smedt (presented at the CCN Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon in 2008). It looks in greater depth at some aspects explored in the earlier duet, such as the relationship between movement and voice. Through several pieces of various running times, Dance #2 attempts to develop the potential dialogues between two artists mixing words and physical posture to create a new hybrid language. This game could be compared with the invention of a language through collective learning, poetic by-product of any relationship both combining art and love. The audience shares the performers’ space and spreads their body in a horizontal dimension.
