On May 29th-30th, 2008, IETM and the Vlaams Theater Instituut (VTI) organised a Satellite Meeting in Brussels about international touring in Europe. It was reserved for European cultural policy makers dealing with international co-operation in the performing arts.
The seminar was organised in partnership with a platform of institutions (ONDA, VTI, TIN, British Council, ETI and Vilnius 2009). They came together one year before to look specifically at the issue of performing arts circulation, sharing the belief that one of the cornerstones of a European Cultural Policy will be to facilitate and support the circulation of performing arts across Europe.
This seminar was the opportunity to exchange practice and ideas regarding mechanisms that could be invented at a European level in order to address asymmetries and inequalities between countries, regions, artists, disciplines and cultural operators.
