Artistic city trip - Poorboy - Promenade workshop
This session takes journey and adventure as its theme; inviting participants to make their own stories and find their own direction as the urban Glasgow cityscape unfolds like a movie around them. Poorboy have a prestigious track record of working in found spaces and of ambitiously appropriating the vistas and visuals of everyday life into exhilarating and involving stories. Their dramatic re-imaginings have been critically acclaimed and are underpinned by the company’s bold explorations of cross disciplinary collaborative working. Language is no barrier as Artistic Director Sandy Thomson leads a very practical exploration of the choreography of non-traditional performance sites and uncovers dramatic encounters from the most ordinary of locations. Using the backdrop of reality, participants will have the chance to share their own experiences and responses to both the city of Glasgow and the journey that has led them here.
