Making Mischief in Glasgow. Ian Smith, Artistic Director of Mischief La-Bas, will give a presentation on the growth of the Glasgow-based interactive performance company whose mission statement is ‘to gently warp the underlay of the fabric of society’. Whether crashing a full-sized space rocket into the city centre, erecting statues of an obscure Tango Superstar in 25 Scottish villages, or creating a street-long ‘Market of Optimism’ Smith believes the company provides very real medicine to a society often jaded by cynicism. ’20 years ago, nobody knew they needed Mischief, now we find some people can’t do without it.’
