Coinciding with RADAR L.A., an International Festival of Contemporary Theater, this caravan was an opportunity to experience new performances by artists and companies from Los Angeles, and international guests from regions that influence the vibrant culture of Southern California, with an emphasis on Latin America and Pacific Rim countries.
The Festival featured dozens of performances by hundreds of U.S. and international artists. It also proposed a symposium for arts professionals on 26 and 27 September with the theme of “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Contemporary Theatre and Performance,” supported by a special grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
In addition, a programme was prepared to give attendees an insight into the unique opportunities and challenges of the performing arts in Los Angeles and the Southern California region, as well as a chance to meet and socialise with a variety of influential producers, cultural organisers and civic leaders.
