This special programme for professionals affiliated with IETM is an opportunity to experience new performances by artists and ensembles from Los Angeles, and international guests from regions that influence the vibrant culture of Southern California, with an emphasis on Latin America and Pacific Rim countries.

The week also features a special daytime symposium for professionals on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 September, with the theme of “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Contemporary Theatre and Performance", featuring influential artists, producers, presenters, scholars, cultural organisers and funders for an inspiring exploration of the future of contemporary theatre and the performing arts. This two-day event will celebrate the changing landscape of the contemporary performing arts field as colleagues predict and provoke the future of the form(s). With a special focus on interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches, the events will investigate various ways to navigate the evolution of contemporary culture, and find ways to support the discovery of new platforms and approaches.

The after the symposium,  a special programme for IETM-associated guests has been scheduled, giving insight into the unique opportunities and challenges of the performing arts in Los Angeles and the Southern California region as participants have a chance to meet and socialize with a variety of influential producers, cultural organizers and civic leaders from around the city.
