SESSION 1 - 11:00-12:15 CEST
Ophelia Jiadai Huang - China"I plan to give a short intro to the context in Shanghai and my responsibility in the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, and then briefly introduce two projects I am currently working on independently: Liquid Dependencies (a performative game about care) and Future Dictionary (curatorial, research and networking). " |
Vikram Iyengar - India"My work in the performing arts in India and internationally revolves around building deep connections between people, places, ideas and cultures. Therefore, I call myself an arts leader and connector as a holding identity for all I do – whether as an artist, curator, commentator or advocate. My presentation will offer a glimpse into a few projects that exemplify my range of work, identities and connections – a plurality that actually makes me whole." |
James Notin - Nigeria"With poetry being the base of my practice, I have shifted artistic mediums over time and now I am mainly focusing on performance work. I realised that text and art are commodities for the viewer, making them a passive consumer who is not as active in deciding what is being consumed. For this session, I will be sharing my attempt at a more participatory and collaborative process of creating my performance and research projects. I am presently researching and curating my works in relation to the topic of memes, necropolitics and selective permeability in the contemporary political system. I will be open to further conversation and opportunities that will allow me time, space and resources to focus on these topics." |
Ariane Cuminale - Brazil" I am part of an 18-year-old collective of 25 producers based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, named Corpo Rastreado. As performing arts producers, for the past few years we have been developing a practice to create continuity in a discontinued environment. One of those movements is Farofa. Created in 2020, it started as an off festival, and it has become a gap in time-space, to focus on the work in progress and the encounter of so many live arts agents." |
Carole Karemera - Rwanda"I’m a woman, a mother, an artist from and based in Rwanda where I co-founded Ishyo Arts Centre. My intervention will be about putting Art @ work, to address social, economic and political challenges faced by the population in the African region; Art @ work to heal communities exposed to all forms of violence and discrimination; Art @ work to invent new forms and aesthetics to think through new realities and rethink Art’s role globally." |
SESSION 2 - 17:00-18:15 CEST
Horacio Pérez - Chile"Over the past eight years, my professional practice has been developed in the international circuit in performing arts, either producing tours, programming or collaborating with international institutions. I am interested in promoting Latin American artists and developing artistic exchanges between my region and the rest of the world. In my presentation, I will talk about different projects I’ve developed in that line, as well as share some new ideas and curatorial ventures that I am interested in creating with international partners." |
Riham Isaac - Palestine"In the context of Palestine, producing innovative multidisciplinary art is both an act of resistance and a platform for transformation. In this conversation, I will highlight various projects I have led as a solo performer and collaborator. My artistic journey has consistently focused on amplifying silenced narratives and redefining conventional perceptions. By pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and challenging established norms, I strive to pave the way for a future that acknowledges the complexities of our past and empowers our voices." |
Stephanie García - Mexico"I will introduce the work and current projects I develop through the arts organisation I represent (PROArtes México), followed by a brief introduction to my artistic practice and past projects." |
Lassina Kone - Mali"I am a movement practitioner, in my creations and in life. I am the Art Director of a centre called Don Sen Folo, based in the village of Bancoumana in Mali, where we create and pass on, with and within our local communities, in common spaces and everyday life, in those same places where people live." |
Korina Kordova - Sweden/Brazil"I am an artist working from within the confluences of dance, choreography, performance and visual arts. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, I am currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. My work draws from feminist new materialisms, ecological |
