"Which side are you on?" Ideas for Reaching Fair Working Conditions in the Arts
IETM wants to take a leading role in advancing the fair and green transition of the performing arts sector. From 2022 to 2024, our focus lies on one topic a year to further the network’s agenda and solution-based thinking.
In 2022, fairness and working conditions in the performing arts were at the top of our agenda, shaping the content of our meetings, policy work and research. We introduced new formats for activities, such as our new Focus meeting, held in April for the first time under the title Fair Enough?. Now we introduce our Innovate Cultural Policy Event which was held online on 25 January from 10:00 - 12:00 CET under the title Which side are you on? Ideas for Reaching Fair Working Conditions in the Arts.
This event introduced the ideas from two of our commissioned authors, Katja Praznik and Bojana Kunst, whose work is featured in our new publication under the same title. IETM has also invited two professionals to introduce innovative new funding schemes and the lessons learned, namely the Irish Basic Income Scheme for the Arts and the pilot programme of Perform Europe, supported by Creative Europe.
To prepare for the event, we highly recommended reading or listening to the new IETM Publication Which side are you on?.
The IETM Innovate Cultural Policy Event is happening as part of our Creative Europe project The New International in the Performing Arts (NIPA): Bridging local and global.
